Welcome to Martin Kittel's Homepage!

I received my PhD in the surface physics department at the Fritz-Haber-Institut in Berlin, Germany. There I was studying the structure of adsorbates on surfaces by photoelectron diffraction.

Here you can find a list of the publications I have been involved with.

At work as well as in my spare time I am a Linux enthusiast. I set up a small Linux cluster at our lab (about 10 PCs and Macs) running Linux and adapted our simulation program to run on this cluster in parallel using the freely available Parallel Virtual Machine-library.

I also have a small section here where I put some of the programs I've written for Linux.

Apart from working with computers I enjoy reading and going to the cinema. When it comes to music I prefer classical music by Mahler, Wagner. Although when I am playing the organ in church it is mainly Bach.
